I am thankful for Three Kings Day today. (Or Epiphany as my friend (MKB) declared her happiness of on fb today!) It seems to be one little thing that German and I can do to celebrate his heritage. In Puerto Rico this holiday is celebrated much like Christmas day is here with presents and food and family. The holiday break is extended into January, so no school! Usually there are 3 men dressed up riding horses through town to recreate the scene, much like our live nativities here. Well, I couldn't quite pull that one off this year, but I did make my version of a Puerto Rican dinner: rice and beans and chicken and I made rice pudding for dessert, my first attempt! Dad joined us for dinner and Sof opened some presents. Sofia wrote about it for her "Family Tradition" homework and got to read it to her class today. She was very excited to come home and see of the Kings had left her anything under our tree, even though we forgot to leave out hay for their camels! She also watched Dora Saves 3 Kings day, it is a tradition in progress! Maybe it will grow over time...
