3/365: My dad!

I am thankful for my dad for 100 thousand different reasons, however, I am not going to go all emotional here and you know I could!  Today I am not simply thankful for his existence in our lives,like I am everyday, but I am just happy and thankful about dad in general.

Just to confuse, I will specifically describe my thanks for today (and nearly every First Tuesday of the month this school year) I am thankful for dad's willingness to leave work early, pick up Sofia at school, sign her out and take her home until 6:00 or so until I roll in to get her. He spends the between times, having fun with Sofia, taking her on errands with him and letting her do fun things like ride the carousel at the mall and use the push broom in the snow to write her FULL name down the driveway!!  When I arrive, he usually then feeds us both, and spends time talking to me about life, sometimes just scheduling and sometimes helping to solve problems, but always to give me long, much needed hugs!  For those I am especially grateful! 

The picture I have included here is of him in his backyard under the lighted palm tree we gave him for Father's Day this last summer.  He loves spending time with us by the pool (and really loves the warmth of summer) which is why this is a great picture of him in his element. (I think he really likes the tree,too, it is still sanding on the deck covered with snow and more Christmas lights, right where he can see it every morning and evening!) I love you, Dad!!!  :)
