Here is a picture of my window sill above my kitchen sink.
I enjoy it!
I have a number of small things I love there, right where I can see them. I have a red glass heart, the salt scoop from Norway that A and M brought us, the little cherry made out of fimo by one of my first graders who is now in middle school, an acorn or two, a tile with cherries from Aunt Alice, a blue ceramic origami crane which (I think) is a chopstick rest that I begged dad to buy me in Epcot, a plant and one rooting in a vase that was my grandmother's, the word "Mother" a gift from my mom 3or 4 years ago, a saki dish for my rings that I painted at Splatters, a mini jam jar from my parents' trip to Paris, an M.E. house and a stone with word wisdom on it. There are other small things as well, stars, more hearts, glass bees I could go on....The latest addition is the heart shaped dish. It was too cute to walk away from at Target and WAY too cute to leave lying flat, so it is propped out against the window frame! I have some seasonal stuff I put out sometimes like snowmen and gingerbread men and I keep a mini ceramic loaf pan that matches each season there too--to hide junk! Stuck to the window itself is a wax and tissue paper heart Sofia "made" back when she was a toddler at Margy School, and I have a cute gel boy and girl holding hands with a heart I bought in Wisconsin when I was there for my cousin's wedding (circa '03?). I also have a glass heart-in-the-hand and stained glass cherries hanging. Every now and again I have to take everything off and wipe the sill down, dust everything off and I get to rearrange and add or subtract what I want. Then I enjoy having those things there all over again. I think it is so great to have a window above my sink and it is even better when they have a window sill! It is such a necessity to me, that my talented husband actually made and installed this particular sill a few months after we moved in because he knows how much I love having a sill for my special treasures!
In the reflection in this second picture, you can see me taking the pictures with my phone, (the striped case also makes me happy!) And my refrigerator-- simply covered with photos and magnets is in the background, I love that too!
It all makes me smile!

It looks like your little burrito plant is doing well! I've given out lots of pieces of that plant. Karla's is doing the best. She recently emailed me a picture of it, and it is huge and lush. I think it likes the southwestern air of New Mexico!
