33/365: February 3

Today is February 3rd, my mom's birthday.  My  thoughts today have been of her and remembering how much she loved cherry pie.  Every year on her birthday that's what she wanted.  Here is a picture of one of her birthday pies: 2008, I believe.  It is is our second year without her here to celebrate with us in person, but I am sure she celebrated in spirit.  You might think it was a sad sort of day for me and in a way it was, I miss her like crazy.  But I really wasn't sad today.  I was happy to have my mind on her today and I was excited to have dinner with my dad at one of her favorite restaurants to commemorate.  While we did not have cherry pie this year, we did have great discussion and delicious, rich chocolaty cakes and fancy coffee.  So today I remember mom with happiness and gratitude and I hope to send her happy birthday wishes out into the world...maybe we will have some pie this weekend, it's never just a one day celebration, she would always say, "It's my birthday festival!" All month long!
