As I mentioned before, I got to ride the rest of the way home and I got a nap in too! Yay! But a memorable part of the ride were the clouds we watched throughout the last 2 or so hours of our trip. The weather was really perfect for the entire trip, and you can tell we drove under a lot of gorgeous blue sky, but south of Buffalo we started to see some pinkish thunderheads off in the distance. Naturally, my weather geek gene kicked in and I checked the radar on my phone. It showed clear skies except for one storm cell right where we were headed! Then I started getting text reports of some terrible weather back home. Lots of thunder, lightening, rain, wind and even hail! I am going to attepmt to post the pics I took out of the window as we drove closer and clsoer. It really was dramatic and amazing to see.

| Just above the overpass, pretty but no biggy! |
| Still far away! |
| getting closer... |
| I think I zoomed for this one! |
| The formations really don't translate well through a dirty windshield going 70+ miles an hour down the thru way! But they were really cool to see evolve! |
| Anvil |
| I love this shot! |
| There's a lot going on inside that cloud! |
| We did see some lightening strikes at this point, but again we were too far away to mind much |
| More of the anvil |
| We were getting under it-closer still |
| here we were about 20 minutes from home and it was amazing to see the different layers of clouds as we passed beneath. |
Believe it or not, after tracking it for two hours, we missed being in it altogether. A little rain and wet roads were all we saw, but the cloud formations and views were awe-inspiring!
