I had posted on Facebook that we were heading back and my childhood friend, Katie, realized that we would be driving a few miles south of her neighborhood and encouraged us to stop in. Now for the very last leg of a trip it is a hard choice to say "let's stop" rather than plowing on to get home, but we kept our easy-going mantra of the trip and decided to stop and I am glad we did! We visited with Katie and her lovely family in their beautiful home for about an hour. It was the best rest stop of the trip! Katie is one of those folks you wish you lived closer to so you could chat more often and be a part of each others' regular lives, not just fly by visits! I am hoping to credit her with teaching me how to knit, once I actually do it!
