88/365; Cousins at play!

The day after the wedding, we had the rare chance to spend time just sitting and visiting with cousins!
Sofia got to run around with reckless abandon, accompanied by my cousins' kids, new playmates for her, they did alot of the stuff I remember doing as a child with my cousins.  One thing they did that I DON'T remember was kind of funny.  The adults were all sitting comfortably in the living room, shut in with the air conditioning at Uncle Tom and Aunt Ellen's.  The kids were all in the basement, playing in the coolness.  Now to the cousins, this was Grnadma and Grandpa's house, a familiar and comfortable place for them, but all new for Sof. We had just eaten a loevly brunch and I was happy that we didn't have to pack up and head back to WNY like we normally would after a weekend in AA.  At irregular intervals, Sofia and cousin Morgan, just three months older than her, would come roaring into the adult hangout and head to something in the corner.    At first I didn't notice what the girls were up to, I was just happy to see my girl was still in one piece and that I didn't have to move to check on her (I was crazy tired!). They kept on crouching on the floor and then would roar back out of the room again--it was very puzzling.   After a  few visits from the two mischievous ones, I finally paid attention--- on her next visit, Sofia came in by herself and stooped to lift up a heating vent, she dropped something small down it and was about to run off, but I stopped her, on the verge of being horrified! Dropping something into my Aunt and uncle's heating system!??  Such bad manners!! I had just opened my mouth to ask what she thought she was doing , when my adult cousin (and micheif maker from the wariler generation) reassured me that the vent didn't connect to the furnace, but allowed items to fall harmlessly into the basement play area where all the kids were gathered, ready to catch whatever was dropped!  I was relieved!! We all had a laugh and then began reminicing about the fun shenanigans we loved when I visited as a kiddo!  It was such a nice visit with these cousins!!
